Problems with the headlight leveling system and warning light on a 2011 Ford Ranger

Hey guys, my 2011 Ford Ranger with gasoline engine has been causing trouble lately. The headlight leveling system is acting up and the warning light in the speedometer is coming on. Is it possible that there is a problem with the function restriction? Do you have any experience with this or any tips on how I can fix it in the workshop? Would be cool to know what I'm up against. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I know the problem, my 2009 Ford Focus used to have it too. I only have some experience with cars, but I'm not a professional. So, I just went to my mechanic. It turned out that a control unit for the headlights was defective (if there was one). The repair cost me 630 euros. You should definitely have your chassis number ready so that they can find the right part. Can you perhaps describe in more detail what exactly is happening? The more information, the better I can help you. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! When I change the light setting, nothing happens. The light stays at the same level no matter what I try. I've already driven 146468 km and have never had any problems with the lights. I'll follow your tips and take it to the workshop. Thanks for the help!

No problem, you're welcome! It definitely seems to be a problem with the headlight control unit, just like with my Ford back then. With 146468 km and no light problems so far, your car is actually in good shape. Replacing the ECU worked wonders on my car, I never had any problems after that. So don't worry, it will be fixed quickly at the garage! Let me know if you have any further questions or want to let us know about the repair. All the best!

Thank you very much! You've really helped me. I'll probably go to the garage tomorrow and see what they say. I hope it's nothing more serious and can be fixed quickly. I'll get back to you when I know more. Thanks again and take care!
