Problems with the lighting in the 2017 Opel Insignia - looking for solutions and experiences

Error in the lighting

Lights are turning on

Hello folks! My Opel Insignia (model year 2017, petrol engine) has recently started having problems with the lights. The lights just come on. I suspect that the light switch is not working properly. Have you ever had similar problems and could you give me tips on how your garage solved it? I would be grateful for any experience and tips that shed light on the matter. Thanks in advance!

Hi, your situation sounds very similar to what I once experienced with my Opel Astra (built in 2015). However, I wouldn't call myself a car specialist by any means, so my garage helped me at the time. It turned out that the control unit was faulty. It was quite expensive, the repair cost me 1000.0 euros. So it could be that you have a similar problem. To give you more specific details, could you please give me more information about your car? It would be especially helpful to know how many miles the car has done and if you have noticed any other symptoms. I hope this helps you a little!

Hey, thanks for your answer. My Insignia already has 86764 km on the clock. The last service was a few months ago. Apart from the lights coming on on their own, I can't see any other abnormalities. Hopefully it's not as expensive as yours!

Thanks for the information. Given your mileage and age, it could be that you have a similar problem to mine. Even if you don't notice any other symptoms, I would go to the garage as soon as possible. Of course, I also hope that it won't be that expensive for you! It's good that you recognized the problem early on. Don't wait too long, because if it really is the control unit, it's possible that other functions of the car are also affected. Better safe than sorry, right? Give us an update when you know more!

Hi everyone, I am also struggling with lighting problems in my 2017 Opel Insignia. The problem occurs sporadically for me, especially in wet weather. The lights flicker and sometimes they switch off completely. This is sometimes very annoying. I have checked the wiring, but have not found anything conspicuous. Does anyone have similar experiences or tips on how I can fix this?

Hello, How exactly did you tidy up the wiring? To me it sounds like a contact resistance or oxidation in the plug or cable. Did you check the cables with a multimeter or just visually?

Hello! My Opel Insignia had similar light issues. It turned out to be a faulty light switch. Replacing it solved the problem for me. Also, check for loose or corroded wiring and fuses too. Good luck!

Hello, I have a 2009 Opel insignia cdti. The problem is that when I turn on the low beam both in automatic and manual mode, appears message "control left low beam bulb" and then the right. I have changed the bulbs, although they were not fused and still gives the warning. The thing is that the bulbs look perfect. They are H7 halogen. Could you tell me where the fault can come from? Thank you.
