Problems with unstable engine and suspected defective boost pressure sensor in a 2014 A6 Audi Diesel
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2014 A6 Audi diesel is experiencing an unsteady engine, jerky acceleration, a loud hissing sound, loss of power, shuddering, stalling, and a check engine light. The suspected cause is a faulty boost pressure sensor, supported by error code P0234, indicating issues with the turbocharger or boost pressure system. Suggested solutions include checking and potentially replacing the boost pressure sensor, which has resolved similar issues in other vehicles and is a more cost-effective fix compared to replacing the turbocharger.

Hey, thanks for the answer! My A6 now has 135432 km on the odometer, and I did the last service at 130000 km. I read it out and it showed a P0234 error code, which is a boost pressure error code that indicates a problem with the turbocharger or the boost pressure system. I think I'll take it to the garage next week and hope that it won't be too expensive a repair. Goodbye, and thanks for the help!

Hey, I had exactly the same problem with my old 2013 A4 Audi, diesel. Your error code P0234 also confirms this. It indicates a problem with the boost pressure sensor or the turbocharger. At my garage, they checked and cleaned the sensor first, although they already suspected that it needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, this was also the case for me. However, a new boost pressure sensor solved the problem. The cost was manageable, somewhere around 150 euros plus labor. All in all, it was much cheaper than a new turbocharger. All in all, replacing the boost pressure sensor was definitely the solution. Hope it turns out just as well for you! Good luck!

Hey, thanks for your reply! Interesting to hear that you had the same problem. I'll definitely have the boost pressure sensor checked. Hopefully it's nothing major and I can get away with replacing the sensor. Really appreciate your detailed information, it has helped me a lot. See you then, and thanks again!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2012 A5 Audi, diesel. At my garage, they discovered that it was mechanical damage to the turbocharger. Unfortunately, it was really expensive, costing me 1800 euros.
