Pulsar engine stalls at idle
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Nissan Pulsar is experiencing stalling at idle and a check engine light, potentially due to a faulty idle air control (IAC) valve. Another individual with a similar issue found that intake contamination was the cause, leading to insufficient air supply at idle. Cleaning the intake provided temporary relief, but ultimately, replacing the IAC valve resolved the problem. It is suggested to inspect the intake and consider IAC valve replacement to address the stalling issue.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Interesting. How did you determine that the intake was the problem? Did you notice any other symptoms besides the stalling and check engine light, and how did you fix it?

Well, the symptoms were almost identical, and honestly, I'm no mechanic. Figured I'd pop the hood and take a look. Saw the intake was coated in muck. I tried cleaning it myself which helped a bit, but eventually the problem came back, so I had to get the IAC valve replaced at a workshop. Cost me around 425€.

Thank you for the information. Based on your experience, I will take my car to a workshop for inspection and potential IAC valve replacement, also mentioning the intake contamination. Hopefully, this will resolve the issue.

Sounds frustrating! I had something similar happen with my Pulsar. Is your intake heavily contaminated? That was the culprit for me. It's like trying to breathe through a clogged straw; the engine just can't get enough air at idle.
