Puma Hybrid Electrical Fault

Help! My 2023 Ford Puma hybrid is throwing a fit. Only done 43960 km. Keep getting random error messages and sometimes the audio just dies or the screen freezes. Anyone else had this?

I understand your frustration. Intermittent electrical issues can be incredibly perplexing. Have you noticed if these errors occur more frequently under specific conditions, such as after driving for a certain duration or when using particular features like the navigation system? Also, has the vehicle undergone any recent maintenance or modifications that might potentially affect the electrical system's integrity? Finally, were any error codes stored in the vehicle's error memory? This information could be helpful in narrowing down the potential causes.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't really noticed any pattern. It's just random. I scanned it with a cheapo scanner, and it showed some error about a control module, but I didn't write it down. Is that a big deal?

A stored error code related to a control module could indeed be significant, particularly given the symptoms you have described. The sporadic nature of the errors, coupled with the failure of various systems and the temporary shutdown of control units, aligns with a potential issue within the BUS system's cable connections. Given these observations, a comprehensive evaluation by a qualified technician is highly recommended to accurately diagnose and resolve the underlying problem. I'd strongly suggest you bring the car to a workshop.

Thanks! Booked it in at the Ford place. They reckon it's a dodgy cable connection to the control unit, like you said. Quoted 155€ to fix. Hopefully, that sorts it!
