Punto engine stalls at idle

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with my 2011 Fiat Punto (gasoline engine). The check engine light keeps coming on, and the engine occasionally stalls at idle, especially when I stop at traffic lights. I already checked the gas cap, and it seems fine. Could it be the tank ventilation valve? I read somewhere that faulty purge valves can cause these symptoms. I am so frustrated with this issue!

Hey, I had similar problems with my Punto. For me the hoses to the purge valve were clogged. Have you checked those?

That's interesting! Which hoses exactly are you referring to? And how did you diagnose that the hoses were clogged rather than the valve itself being faulty?

I'm not really a car expert, but it was the hoses connected to the purge valve near the engine. Honestly, I didn't diagnose it myself. I took it to a workshop, and they figured it out pretty quickly. Might be worth checking out a workshop.

Thanks! I appreciate the insight. I took it to my mechanic, and you were right! It was the hoses. They replaced the clogged hoses, and it cost me around 175€. The check engine light is off, and the engine is no longer stalling! I'm so relieved.
