Had my last service at 61667 KM and wanted to add my experience with the seat warmer problem. The temperature control system in my driver seat also malfunctioned. The seat heater diagnostics showed error codes but interestingly, the button still lit up when pressed. Just no warmth at all from the seat heating. The passenger side seat heater works perfectly fine. Not seeing any warning lights on the dash either. The seat heating issue started gradually, first working intermittently before failing completely. Looking forward to additional input on diagnostic steps before I take it in for repairs.

Thanks for those extra details about your Q2 seat heater issue, this matches exactly what happened with mine. The heating button staying lit while having no actual heat output is a classic sign of a failed heating element or thermal sensor connection. In my case, the intermittent heating before complete failure was caused by a damaged wire connection to the temperature control unit. The vibration from regular driving eventually broke the connection completely. The automotive repair technician found this after running a full diagnostic scan. A few things to check before the repair shop visit: Test the seat cushion connector under the seat, Look for visible damage to the wiring harness, Try resetting the temperature control module by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes The heater failure pattern starting gradually then failing completely is very typical. My repair cost included the new heating element at 190 Euro plus 200 Euro labor since they had to remove the seat cushion to access the components. While checking diagnostics codes is essential, based on these symptoms, prepare for potential heating element replacement. The good news is your passenger side still works, which helps isolate the issue to just the driver seat components.

Thanks for the helpful feedback. The gradual failure pattern of my seat heating really lines up with what you described. After checking under the seat, I found a loose connector that might be related to the temperature control system. Still no warmth from the seat warmer though, even after reconnecting it. Going to schedule a diagnostic appointment next week. The seat heater definitely needs professional attention since all my attempts to restore function have failed. Will make sure they check both the heating element and wiring connections, considering the intermittent nature of the failure. My seat cushion looks intact, so hopefully they can access and repair the heating components without a full replacement. The 390 Euro repair cost you mentioned gives me a good baseline for what to expect. Will update once I get the final diagnosis and repair quote.

Having some hands-on experience with seat heater repairs, I faced a similar issue with my 2015 Q3 last winter. The heating element in the driver seat failed completely, showing error codes in diagnostics just like yours. The workshop found the seat heating mat was defective due to a broken thermal sensor connection. They had to partially disassemble the seat to access the heater components. The repair included replacing the heating element and testing the new thermal sensor connections. Total cost came to 390 Euro including parts and labor. For your specific case, it would help to know: Which seat is affected (driver/passenger)? Does the heating button light up when pressed? Can you feel any partial warmth or is it completely cold? Have you noticed any warning lights on the dash? This sounds very similar to what happened with my seat heater failure. These heating systems often have similar weak points across model years, but the exact repair approach can vary. Before booking a repair, get the specific error codes checked. This will help determine if its truly a heating element issue or perhaps just a wiring problem, which could be less expensive to fix.
