Q4 e-tron TPMS Sensor Malfunction Despite Normal Pressure

Can anyone share experience with repeated TPMS issues on an Audi Q4 e tron? My 2021 model keeps showing low tire pressure warnings despite proper tire inflation. Already had it checked at a mechanic who seemed clueless. Car has around 100000km. Error message stays on display and car computer shows stored error codes. Not sure if sensor needs replacement or if there is another underlying issue. Any tips on trusted repair solutions would help.

I faced similar TPMS issues with my 2018 Audi e-tron GT. The persistent sensor fault turned out to be failing sensor batteries, which is common around the 100000km mark. A proper tire check confirmed the tire inflation was correct using a calibrated pressure gauge. The TPMS issue continued showing warnings because the sensors were no longer transmitting accurate data to the vehicle computer. The fix required replacing all four TPMS sensors. This is not a serious mechanical problem, but rather a maintenance item that needs attention to ensure proper tire pressure monitoring. The sensor replacement process includes reprogramming the new units to communicate with the car computer. Important diagnostic steps: Verify actual tire pressures independently, Check for stored TPMS error codes, Test sensor signal strength, Inspect for physical sensor damage After replacement, the system needed a reset and relearn procedure. The stored error codes cleared and the warning messages stopped. Regular TPMS function restored with accurate pressure readings.

Thanks for sharing those details about the TPMS sensor replacements. Had the exact same TPMS issue with my Q4 e-tron last winter. The mechanics first tried cleaning the air valve area and recalibrating, but the warnings kept coming back. Finally got all sensors replaced which fixed it. Could you share what the total repair cost was in your case? Also wondering if youve had any tire pressure monitoring problems since the replacement?

Had zero tire pressure sensor fault messages since the repair was completed. The TPMS system now works flawlessly and provides accurate readings. The total cost came to 280 Euro which covered new sensor batteries, labor, and system recalibration. The air valve cleaning approach your mechanic tried first is common, but when sensor batteries are depleted, replacement is the only reliable fix. After 100000km, this maintenance is fairly typical for these systems. Each tire now reports proper tire inflation values without any warning lights or error codes. The main thing is having a properly working tire monitoring system for safety. While 280 Euro might seem steep, its worth it for reliable pressure monitoring and avoiding potential flat tire situations.

Thanks for the input. I finally got my Q4 fixed last week. After seeing multiple garages that just kept recalibrating without success, I found a specialist who knew exactly what was wrong. The total repair came to 320 Euro for replacing all TPMS sensors and programming them. The air pressure readings are now stable and accurate. No more warning lights on the display. The mechanic explained these sensors typically need replacement around 100000km when their batteries die. A proper tire check with a pressure gauge confirmed everything is working correctly now. Worth every cent to have working tire monitoring again. Much better than constantly wondering if I actually had a low tire pressure issue or just faulty sensors. Sharing this so others with similar problems know its likely just time for new sensors after this mileage.
