Hi, I'm having an issue with my 2007 Nissan Qashqai diesel. The on-board computer displays "Active hood fault", and the airbag warning lamp is constantly lit. The error memory confirms the active hood fault, also saying the spring actuators have been triggered. It seems like a defective acceleration sensor might be the problem. Has anyone else experienced something similar with their Qashqai?

No, nothing like that that I can recall. It just appeared one day. Did you manage to fix it yourself, or did you have to take it to a workshop? If you fixed it, any pointers on where to start?

I wasn't comfortable messing with the airbag system myself, so I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the acceleration sensor and replaced it. Best to get it checked professionally, safety first.

Thanks for the advice. I suspected as much. I'll book it in at a trusted workshop and get it sorted. They quoted me 315€ for the repair, sensor, and labor. Hopefully, that'll be the end of it.
