Qashqai Active Hood Fault Airbag Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Nissan Qashqai diesel is experiencing an "Active hood fault" and a constantly lit airbag warning lamp, with error memory indicating triggered spring actuators. The issue may be due to a defective acceleration sensor. A similar case was resolved by replacing the sensor at a workshop, suggesting professional inspection and repair for safety.

No, nothing like that that I can recall. It just appeared one day. Did you manage to fix it yourself, or did you have to take it to a workshop? If you fixed it, any pointers on where to start?

I wasn't comfortable messing with the airbag system myself, so I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the acceleration sensor and replaced it. Best to get it checked professionally, safety first.

Thanks for the advice. I suspected as much. I'll book it in at a trusted workshop and get it sorted. They quoted me 315€ for the repair, sensor, and labor. Hopefully, that'll be the end of it.

Yep, sounds familiar. I've got a Qashqai too, and I had almost the exact same symptoms a while back. That "Active hood fault" message is a pain. Did anything specific trigger it, like a bump or hard braking?
