Qashqai Glow Plug Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Nissan Qashqai diesel exhibited a persistent preheating lamp and active error memory, suspected to be a glow plug issue. The symptoms included rough idling and occasional misfires, suggesting faulty glow plugs. It was recommended to replace all glow plugs due to potential future failures and to check the control unit. After replacing all four glow plugs, the vehicle's performance improved significantly.

Misfires, yeah, a little bit rough. Nothing crazy, but definitely not as smooth as usual. So, glow plugs, right? Replace them all, or just the faulty one?

Given the hassle of getting to them and the fact that if one's gone, the others probably aren't far behind, I'd suggest replacing all of them. Check the control unit too, but the symptoms point to the plugs. If unsure, take it to a workshop!

Appreciate the confirmation. Took it to the workshop and you were spot on – glow plugs. All four replaced, cost me about 440€. Runs like a champ again! Thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar. I've got a Qashqai too and had similar symptoms last winter. Preheating light staying on, plus the engine struggled on cold starts. Any rough idling or misfires?
