Qashqai Oxygen Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Nissan Qashqai hybrid is experiencing issues with the check engine light on, an error stored, and increased fuel consumption, suspected to be related to the oxygen sensor heater. A defective cable or plug could indeed cause these problems by affecting sensor readings and the air-fuel mixture. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle checked at a workshop, where a faulty connection was diagnosed and repaired, resolving the issue.

I haven't checked the air-fuel ratio specifically. Is that something I can easily test myself, or does it require special equipment? If the cable or plug is the problem, could that also affect the air-fuel readings?

It definitely can! A faulty connection messes with the sensor readings, which throws off the air-fuel mixture. Look, I went through something similar. Honestly, after checking the basics, I just took mine to a workshop. Saved myself a lot of hassle. They diagnosed a bad connection in no time.

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I had it checked at the workshop, and you were right – faulty connection. Cost me 95€, but at least it's fixed.

Qashqai owner here too. Oxygen sensor issues are a pain, aren't they? Higher fuel consumption and the check engine light...sounds familiar. I'm curious, have you checked the air-fuel ratio? Is it running lean or rich?
