Quest high fuel consumption and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Nissan Quest is experiencing high fuel consumption, stalling at idle, and the check engine light is on, with smoke during acceleration. The suspected cause is a faulty mass air flow (MAF) sensor. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the MAF sensor, leading to improved vehicle performance.

Thanks for the tip! I did check the air filter, and it was pretty clean. How did you confirm it was the MAF sensor on your Quest?

Well, first the check engine light came on in mine too. A mechanic told me to check that sensor. I didn't want to get my hands dirty, so I went straight to the workshop. They said the sensor was gone.

Alright, thanks. I appreciate the help! I'll take it to a workshop. It was indeed the MAF sensor and cost 365€ to repair. It's running smoothly now.

Hey there! I have a Quest too, and your symptoms sound super familiar. Mine was acting up the same way – awful fuel economy, stalling… it was a mess. It could very well be the MAF sensor. Have you checked your air filter? A dirty filter can sometimes cause the MAF to get gunked up.
