Ractis Rear Window Heating Issue

Hi, I have a 2017 Toyota Ractis with a gasoline engine. The rear window heating isn't working. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and the windshield heating seems weaker than usual. Could a heavily discharged or defective battery really be the cause? Mileage is at 160483 km.

Hey! I had a similar problem with my Toyota Ractis (don't remember the exact year). The rear defroster just quit. First thing, have you checked the fuse? It's usually a simple fix, but sometimes it can point to something bigger. Let me know!

Thanks! I checked the fuse, it seems okay. Is there anything else that could cause this before I take it to a mechanic?

Ah, if the fuse is fine, then it's probably not as simple as I hoped. When mine went, the fuse was the culprit. If it's not that, I'd seriously consider getting it checked out. Could be a wiring issue, the heating element itself, or some other electrical gremlin. Better safe than sorry!

Okay, thanks for the advice! Turns out it was indeed a heavily discharged battery. Had it replaced, and the rear window heating is working perfectly now. Total repair cost was 290€.
