Ranger Diesel Running Lean

My 2014 Ford Ranger diesel is running lean (39900 km on the clock). Getting reduced power, check engine light, rough running, and jerking when accelerating. Suspect injector issues. Anyone else seen this?

Ranger here, though not sure on the year. I had similar symptoms a while back. Did you check the intake manifold or maybe the mass air flow sensor? Could also be something with the EGR valve impacting the air-fuel ratio. Worth a look before tearing into the injectors.

Thanks for the tips. Did your check engine light specify a lean condition, or did you find it just by feel? Was the catalytic converter affected, or did you catch it early?

Yeah, the check engine light pointed to a lean condition, and the symptoms were pretty much the same. I didn't push it to the point where the catalytic converter was affected. I'd suggest a workshop visit to properly diagnose the injectors.

Appreciated. Indeed, it was a defective injection valve causing it. Cost me 515€ to replace it. Now she runs like a charm again!
