Thanks for the tips. Did your check engine light specify a lean condition, or did you find it just by feel? Was the catalytic converter affected, or did you catch it early?

Yeah, the check engine light pointed to a lean condition, and the symptoms were pretty much the same. I didn't push it to the point where the catalytic converter was affected. I'd suggest a workshop visit to properly diagnose the injectors.

Appreciated. Indeed, it was a defective injection valve causing it. Cost me 515€ to replace it. Now she runs like a charm again!

Ranger here, though not sure on the year. I had similar symptoms a while back. Did you check the intake manifold or maybe the mass air flow sensor? Could also be something with the EGR valve impacting the air-fuel ratio. Worth a look before tearing into the injectors.
