Ranger outside temperature sensor issue

Hey, I've got a weird issue with my 2016 Ford Ranger diesel. The outside temperature sensor seems to be on the fritz. I'm getting an error code, the AC won't kick on, and at freezing temps the washer nozzles are stuck, plus the mirror heating isn't working. I'm guessing it's a bad connection somewhere in the sensor's wiring, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has run into this before?

Had a similar problem with my old BMW. Same symptoms – AC not working, weird temp readings. Turned out to be a faulty sensor connection. Check the wiring and the plug itself for corrosion or damage.

Thanks for the tip! Was your BMW showing the same range of symptoms? I mean, AC, washer nozzles, and mirror heating all tied to that sensor? Sounds like a lot riding on one little component.

Yep, all those systems were affected. The car uses the outside temp for a lot of things. If the sensor is sending garbage data, it can screw with all sorts of systems. I would suggest a visit to the workshop.

Thanks for confirming! Booked it in at the workshop. They found a broken wire in the plug and replaced it. Cost me 95€ and everything's working perfectly now. Appreciate the help!
