Ranger sunroof initialization error

My 2014 Ford Ranger, diesel engine, with only 50283 km is throwing a 'sunroof not initialized' error. The sunblind is stuck, and the whole convertible top is now useless. It simply won't open or close, and the sunblind won't retract or extend. Some coding was recently carried out on the vehicle; could that be the reason?

Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my Ranger's sunroof. Was the sunblind getting stuck in one position before everything went kaput?

Yep, sounds like the same issue. Given that the coding might have messed things up, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop with diagnostics equipment. They should be able to re-initialize the sunroof mechanism and get it working again.

Thanks! I took your advice and went to a workshop. They recalibrated the sunroof; cost me 75€ and it works like a charm now! Looks like the coding did indeed mess things up.
