RAV4 Fault Memory Lock Active

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (60030 km). A scan revealed a 'Fault memory lock active' message. The only symptom is this error stored in memory. Could undervoltage be the cause?

I also own a RAV4. I encountered a similar error message, accompanied by some odd electrical behavior. Have you checked your 12V battery? Mine was nearing the end of its life, causing voltage fluctuations that triggered various ECU faults.

Thanks, I will check the 12V battery. If the 12V battery is the problem, could this cause a 'Fault memory lock active' message? How did you solve your issue?

Yes, a failing 12V battery in these cars can cause all sorts of seemingly unrelated error messages due to voltage drops affecting the ECU. I tried a few basic resets, but I ended up taking mine to a trusted workshop. They confirmed the battery issue and cleared the error codes after replacing the battery. It is probably best to take your car to a workshop.

I appreciate the advice. I took my RAV4 to a local workshop. The technicians confirmed undervoltage. Replacing the battery and clearing the error memory resolved it. The total cost was 240€.
