RAV4 temperature sensor issue

Hey, I'm having some weird issues with my 2017 Toyota RAV4, gasoline engine. The instrument cluster shows totally wrong temperatures, and the check engine light is on. Also, it takes ages for the engine to warm up! I checked the cooling grille for obstructions, but it looks clear. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar! I've got a RAV4 too, and I had similar symptoms a while back. Check if you perhaps blew a fuse which is responsible for heating. Is the grille actually restricted, or could it be something with the sensor?

A fuse, huh? Interesting. Where would I find the fuse for the cooling grille, and how would I even check if it's defective? Also, how would I know if the sensor is bad?

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure which specific fuse it is on the RAV4 - you'd have to check your manual or a wiring diagram. As for the sensor, that's tricky to diagnose without the proper tools. Might be best to take it to a workshop to avoid damaging anything.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on - it was just a defective fuse for the cooling grille, costing me 52€ to replace! Appreciate the help!
