RC Engine Overheating

I own a 2019 Lexus RC with a hybrid engine. Recently, the engine has been overheating, and the check engine light is on. The car has 220606 km on the clock. Could a defective radiator fan cause this?

Overheating and a check engine light definitely sound like a radiator fan issue could be the culprit. Have you checked if the fan is spinning freely or making any strange noises? A faulty speed sensor could also be at fault. Is the fan blade obstructed somehow?

I haven't noticed any unusual noises, but I'm not sure about the speed sensor. Is there a way to check the sensor without special equipment?

Unfortunately, the speed sensor is tricky to test without proper tools. Given the overheating and check engine light, it's probably best to get it checked by a professional. If it is the speed sensor, I would expect a bill around 250€.

Thank you for the advice. I had the car checked, and it was indeed the speed sensor causing the radiator fan to fail. It was replaced for 250€, and the issue is resolved.
