RC Transmission Parking Defect

I'm having trouble with the automatic transmission parking position on my 2021 Lexus RC hybrid with 220454 km. The engine sometimes won't start, the check engine light is on, gear shifts are rough, and there's a stored error code. Looks like a defective control unit is the cause.

Wow, that sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series. The car wouldn't start sometimes, and the transmission was acting up. Was it expensive?

Could you tell me more about the transmission issues you had with your BMW? Was it also related to the parking position and a control unit?

Yeah, similar stuff. Wouldn't always go into park right, and then the car wouldn't start because it didn't register as being in park. It's probably best to get it checked by a workshop.

Got it. The control unit is the problem. Repair costs are about 1000€. Thanks for sharing your experience.
