RCZ alarm malfunction

I'm having trouble with the anti-theft alarm on my 2014 Peugeot RCZ (gasoline engine). I've got an error stored and the alarm isn't working right. Anyone else seen this? Could it be related to the alarm being coded for optical locking? It has 275228 km.

Hey! I drive an RCZ too, and I had a similar alarm issue a while back. Was yours activating randomly, or is it completely dead? Did you check the alarm sensors, or just the error code?

Thanks! No, the alarm isn't activating randomly, it's totally dead. When you say check the alarm sensors, do you mean the ones on the doors and hood? Or are there other sensors involved?

Aha! Mine was going off all the time. If it's totally dead, and the error code points to a coding issue, it very well could be that. And yes, the door and hood ones. But, given it's coded to the optical locking... honestly, save yourself the headache and take it to a workshop. They'll sort it in no time. That's what solved my similar problem.

Okay, I appreciate the advice! I went to the workshop, and it turned out the alarm system was indeed coded to activate optical locking, as suspected. They recoded it and now it's working perfectly. The final repair cost was only 45€.
