RCZ Engine Control Malfunction

I'm writing to ask about a potential issue with my 2010 Peugeot RCZ diesel. It has about 294341 km and now the engine won't start, with an engine control malfunction showing. Could this be an ECU failure, or something less severe?

Hmm, a non-start issue on a diesel RCZ. Did you check the basics? I had a similar problem on my old Volvo, and it turned out to be a faulty connection to the battery. Worth a check before you go down the ECU route. Is the starter motor even turning over?

Just the starting issue. Turned the key, and nothing. No warning lights, no struggling, just completely dead. The battery connections looked fine at first glance, but after cleaning them and making sure they were properly tight, it fired right up. It's definitely worth checking before you start suspecting ECU issues; those can be a pain, and expensive to resolve. I would recommend visiting a workshop.
