RCZ intake air temperature sensor fault

Hi, I'm having some issues with my 2013 Peugeot RCZ, gasoline engine, with 23539 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and I've noticed reduced engine power and rough engine running. I hooked it up to a diagnostic tool and it's showing an error related to the intake air temperature sensor. I'm assuming the IAT sensor is defective, but I wanted to get some opinions before replacing it.

Greetings, I've experienced a similar predicament with my RCZ. The symptoms you describe, particularly the engine management light illumination coupled with diminished power output, strongly suggest a fault within the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor circuit. Have you inspected the sensor's wiring harness and connector for any signs of corrosion or physical damage? A discontinuity in the circuit could manifest in the same manner as a defective sensor.

Thanks for the reply! I did a quick visual check of the wiring, but didn't see anything obvious. Where exactly is the IAT sensor located on the RCZ, and is there a specific range of resistance I should be looking for when testing it with a multimeter?

The IAT sensor is typically located within the intake manifold or directly adjacent to the air filter housing. Consult your vehicle's repair manual for a precise location schematic. Regarding resistance values, these are contingent upon the ambient air temperature. A diagnostic tool capable of live data streaming would be beneficial in ascertaining whether the sensor's reported temperature aligns with actual conditions. If the readings are implausible, sensor replacement is warranted. Given the error code present, it is likely a sensor failure. A workshop visit may be required to diagnose the issue.

OK, thanks for confirming. I appreciate the detailed info. I'll take it to my local workshop. The IAT sensor was indeed defective and the repair, including the new sensor, came to 155€.
