RCZ Low Brake Fluid

I've got a 2010 Peugeot RCZ diesel and I've noticed the brake fluid level is low. Also, the brake pedal feels strange. Not like it used to. Any ideas? I'm worried it might be the master cylinder, but I haven't really had a good look yet.

I had a similar issue with my RCZ. Strange brake pedal feedback and the fluid was low. Check your brakes first - worn pads can cause the fluid level to drop as the calipers extend further. How many miles has your car done?

Thanks for the tip! It's done 78911 km. When you say 'check the brakes', what exactly should I be looking for? I'm not really a mechanic.

Okay, that's a fair amount of mileage. I had similar mileage when my brakes failed. I'd suggest taking it to a shop for a brake inspection. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to brakes, you know? If the pads are worn down, that's probably your culprit. It's like drinking from a glass with a hole, the fluid has to go somewhere!

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local workshop, and you were spot on. The front brakes were worn. Cost me 480€ for new pads and a fluid replacement. Feels much better now!
