RCZ Power Steering Issue

Hi, I have a 2011 Peugeot RCZ diesel with 52035 km on the clock. The power steering is playing up. The steering wheel vibrates, and the handling feels spongy. There's an error stored, and it takes more effort to steer, like the power steering assist has failed. I suspect it might be a defective cable or plug connection.

I had similar symptoms in my previous car, though it wasn't a Peugeot. Have you checked the power steering fluid level? Also, are there any unusual noises coming from the steering pump when you turn the wheel? Maybe it's a pressure hose issue?

Fluid level is fine. No strange noises from the pump, though. Where exactly should I be looking for pressure hose issues? Is there a common point of failure?

Without physically seeing it, it's hard to say exactly. I'd start by checking the connections to the pump and the steering rack. Given the error and your symptoms, it's probably best to get it checked by a workshop.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a shop, and you were right - it was a bad connection. 95€ later, all good.
