Rear Window Heating Issues in 2021 Dacia Spring Electric Vehicle

Hey! Facing some trouble with the rear window heating of my 2021 Dacia Spring, with an electric engine and running around 87,512 KM. The heated windows seem not to function and there's a stored fault I noticed. I've kinda linked this to the rear window heating operating limit. If anyone has dealt with a similar issue, could you share how your mechanic resolved it? Just had a rough experience with mine recently and wouldn't mind some heads-up on what to anticipate. Much appreciated!

Hey! Sure thing - had a similar issue with my 2018 Dacia Logan, ran about 90K KM at that time. The battery was running pretty weak and it massively affected my vehicle's rear window heating. The mechanic told me that the reduced power from the battery wasn't supporting the operation of the rear window defogger. There weren't any extreme issues, just that the battery was near its life end and struggled to deliver enough power for all the car functionalities, including the rear window heating. So, they had to replace the battery. After getting a new one, everything worked as smooth as before, no problems with the heated windows or any other operations. Hope this helps you out!

Hey, cheers for sharing your experience! Interesting that it was down to the battery, makes sense in hindsight. Out of curiosity, do you recall roughly what the damage was to your wallet for that fix? And since the replacement did any other niggles surface connected to the same issue? Appreciate your help!

Hey! No worries, glad to help! Regarding the cost, from what I recall, the battery switch set me back about 290€. Initially, it felt a bit steep, but considering the massive difference it made, worth every penny. After the switch, any issues related to the rear window heating were completely sorted. The functional limitation that was bugging me previously vanished. Given that the source of power was the root problem, once that was fixed, everything that depended on it returned to normal. Hope this helps!

Hey there, Blimey! That's a small fortune, but if it sorts the issue then that's money well spent! Much obliged for all the information. This will surely give me a solid base to approach the mechanic again. Fingers crossed, it's just the battery for me as well. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. A massive help! Cheers!
