Rearview Mirror Heating Issue

Has anyone had issues with their rearview mirror heating I have a 2020 Mercedes AMG GT with a gasoline engine, and the mirror heating on both sides seems to have stopped working I am at 67259 km It is quite annoying now that winter driving is here, and the mirrors ice up quickly The temperature control does not seem to be doing anything I checked and there is an error stored in the error memory, but I do not have the specific code I am guessing it might be a bad connection somewhere, like a cable or plug issue I am hoping it is not a complete mirror replacement Any thoughts before I take it in Estimate from my local mechanic based on similar situations is around 95€

Mirror heating problems are the worst in winter I had something similar happen in my AMG GT Check the wiring harness where it connects to the mirror assembly It is a common spot for corrosion or a loose connection Is the error code for the driver's side or passenger side mirror or both

Thanks for the quick reply When you say wiring harness, are you referring to the connector inside the door panel or the one directly attached to the rearview mirror itself And no idea about the error code I will have to get it read again

Yeah, the one directly behind the car mirror Usually water gets in there and corrodes the pins If that looks okay, then it is probably a trip to the workshop to read the error code They can pinpoint it and voltage test the circuit Could still be a faulty connection, but could also be a defective heating element which means mirror replacement

Thanks so much for the information I took it to my mechanic, and you were right, it was a corroded connector behind the driver's side mirror They cleaned it up and applied some dielectric grease, and it is working perfectly now The error code confirmed the driver's side issue Total cost was exactly what I expected too
