Renault Clio Diesel Engine Stalling After Fuel Filter Change
Summary of the thread
After changing the fuel filter on a 2023 Renault Clio diesel, the engine began stalling at idle, the check engine light turned on, and there was a noticeable loss of power. The issue was suspected to be related to the fuel pressure regulator. A similar experience with a Peugeot suggested that the fuel pressure regulator might be defective. The problem was confirmed and resolved by replacing the fuel pressure regulator, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Interesting! What exactly was it on your Peugeot, and what did it cost you to fix? Also, where is the fuel pump? The fuel efficiency has been normal until now, and no misfires before changing the filter, but there is an error entry now.

On my Peugeot, it was the fuel pressure regulator. From what I remember, the repair cost around 45€. With the error entry now, and considering you just changed the fuel filter, it does sound like the fuel pressure regulator is defective. Honestly, I would go to the workshop to prevent doing something wrong.

Thanks a lot for the advice! It was indeed the fuel pressure regulator. The workshop confirmed it and replaced it. Runs like new again!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar thing happen with my old Peugeot. Check engine light, loss of power… turned out to be a faulty fuel something-or-other. Was your fuel efficiency normal before? Did the engine misfire before changing the fuel filter? Did you get an error entry?
