Renault Fluence Poor Starting

My 2011 Renault Fluence with a gasoline engine starts poorly, cranking a lot. Diagnostics show a continuous interrupted Terminal 30 plus. I suspect a heavily discharged or defective battery. Could this fry the ignition switch or cause a voltage drop, messing with the starter motor? Mileage is at 201333 km.

I had a similar issue with my Fluence! Check your charging system first. Is your battery light on? When was the battery last replaced?

Battery light isn't on. The battery is relatively new, maybe 2 years old. How did you troubleshoot your Fluence? Any specific tests or components you inspected?

Yep, symptoms sound very familiar. I went down the same rabbit hole checking the starter and ignition. Turns out, the charging system wasn't playing nice, even with a newish battery. It ended up pointing to a faulty voltage regulator. I'd suggest heading to a workshop; save yourself the headache.

Thanks! I took it to the shop as you suggested. You were spot on about the voltage regulator! Replaced it and the battery. Grand total: 290€. Starts like a charm now. Appreciate the help!
