Renault Master engine stalling idling
Summary of the thread
The 2002 Renault Master diesel is experiencing engine stalling at idle and reduced power, with the check engine light on. The issue is likely related to a defective fuel volume regulator, which is integrated within the high pressure pump. The recommended solution is to replace the high pressure pump, and a visit to a workshop is advised for this repair.

Fuel volume regulator, eh? That's a new one on me. Whereabouts is that located, and is it a DIY job, or am I looking at a garage visit?

It's integrated within the high pressure pump. Given the symptoms, it's highly probable the pump itself is defective, and replacement is the recommended solution. I recommend a workshop.

Well, workshop it is, then. Just got the bill - fuel volume regulator defective, high pressure pump replacement needed, costing me 1510€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction; at least I knew what I was in for!

I have a Master, although I don't know if the year matters. These symptoms suggest a fuel volume regulator issue. Have you checked the high pressure pump?
