When you say electrical bypass valve, is that part of the turbocharger, or is it separate? Were your symptoms constant, or did they come and go? I'm trying to figure out if I can diagnose it myself or if I should take it to a workshop.

The electrical bypass valve is a separate component, part of the turbo system. Given the symptoms, and the potential for further damage if misdiagnosed, I'd recommend getting it checked by a qualified mechanic. It could save money.

Took the van to the shop, and you were spot on. The electrical bypass valve was defective. They replaced it for 250€, and it's running like new again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I had similar symptoms on my Master. It sounds like a defective electrical bypass valve. Check the turbo actuator and all the hoses for leaks as well. A boost leak could cause those issues.
