Cleaning, huh? I've heard mixed opinions. What did you use to clean it, and did it actually make a difference on your 308?

I used a proper MAF sensor cleaner spray – don't use anything else, apparently. It helped a little, but honestly, it was a temporary fix. Eventually, I bit the bullet and replaced the sensor. Honestly, after all of this pain, I would recommend you go straight to the workshop.

Okay, appreciate the advice! No point messing about too much, I guess. Ended up taking it to the workshop. Turns out the MAF sensor was definitely knackered. Total cost was 365€, but at least it's running smoothly now. Cheers!

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my old Peugeot 308. Check engine light, rough idling, and what looked like a steam train following me! Have you tried cleaning the MAF sensor first? Might be worth a shot before replacing it.
