Renault Spider Fuel Pump Wiring Issue

When you experienced this issue, did the diagnostic tools specifically point to the fuel pump itself, or just a generic fuel system error? I'm trying to narrow down whether I'm dealing with a pump failure, or something simpler like the wiring harness or a faulty relay. Any specific connectors or areas where you encountered problems would be immensely helpful.

The diagnostics initially pointed towards the fuel pump. However, after tracing the issue, it turned out to be a defective cable connection to the component. I'd still recommend a visit to a reputable workshop with experience on our vehicles, so they can perform a full diagnostic and trace the issue. You may save time and frustration by letting an expert have a look.

Your experience confirms my suspicions. I shall delve into the wiring! Thanks to your shared experience, I decided to bring it to a workshop that I trust. And you were right! As suspected, it was a defective plug connection to the fuel pump. Cost me only 95€! Thanks for your advice, you saved me a fortune!

I own a Spider. I recall similar symptoms. The engine's reluctance to start, rough idling, and the check engine light are familiar. Focus on meticulously checking all cable and plug connections related to the fuel pump. A loose or corroded connection can cause these issues. Ensure the connections are clean and seated. It's tedious, but it might save expense.
