Renault Wind battery issue

Hey, I'm tearing my hair out here! I've got a 2010 Renault Wind, gasoline engine, and lately the battery's been acting super weird. It feels weak when starting, like it's struggling, and the lights are flickering like a disco! Could it be the dreaded battery sensor acting up? I've heard they can cause havoc with the voltage. Anyone else had similar issues? What am I even supposed to do?

It's possible the battery sensor is the issue. Have you checked the battery's voltage when the engine is off and when it's running? This could provide more information.

Okay, thanks! How do I do that exactly? Where should the voltage be in both cases? Is there a specific range I should be looking for?

A healthy battery should read around 12.6 volts when off. When running, the voltage should be higher, around 13.7 to 14.7 volts, indicating the alternator is charging the battery. Given your symptoms and if those voltage readings are off, it's likely the battery sensor. Consider taking it to a workshop for diagnostics.

Thanks so much! Took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out it WAS the battery sensor! Cost me 315€ to replace. Everything's working great now. Appreciate the help!
