Renault Wind Camshaft Sensor Failure

I'm having trouble with my 2010 Renault Wind, gasoline engine. It's got about 241611 km on it. Lately, it's been starting poorly and feels like it has reduced engine power. I scanned it and got an error related to the camshaft sensor. I checked the wiring and plug, and they seem okay, but I suspect that may be the root cause. Has anyone else experienced similar timing issues or camshaft position sensor failure?

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same symptoms on my old Volvo C30. Started hard, felt sluggish, and the check engine light was on. Turned out to be a dodgy connection to the camshaft sensor. I fiddled with the connector and wires, and it improved temporarily, but eventually, it failed completely. Did you check the resistance of the sensor itself? What codes are you getting?

If I remember correctly, the Volvo was throwing a P0340 code. Cleaning the connector gave me maybe a day or two of reprieve, but it was temporary. Honestly, given the symptoms and the potential for further damage, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis and replacement. My local quoted me about 95€ including parts and labour.
