Renault Wind exhaust flap issue

My 2011 Renault Wind with a gasoline engine has an exhaust flap issue at 163502 km. The error memory has a fault, the exhaust noise is louder, and there's noisy engine running after a cold start. I suspect the exhaust flap is defective. Has anyone else experienced this?

Exhaust noise louder than usual... sounds like exhaust flaps defective indeed. Did you check the flap actuator or the flap motor?

Could you elaborate on the typical failure modes of the flap actuator or motor? I want to understand which component is more likely to cause these symptoms.

Usually the motor burns out due to age, or the actuator gets stuck. Either way, I'd suggest visiting a workshop to have it checked properly.

It was indeed the exhaust flap motor. Replaced it for 190€. The symptoms are now gone.
