Ridgeline Electrical Malfunctions
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Honda Ridgeline owner experienced electrical malfunctions, including a full error memory and a non-functional navigation system, potentially due to implausible control unit programming. The issue was suspected to be related to the ECU or software. It was suggested to check for recalls and run diagnostics, but ultimately, a certified technician confirmed that reprogramming the control unit resolved the problem.

Recalls I'll check, thanks. Onboard diagnostics... wouldn't a software bug still show up as a generic code? Thinking it's beyond just a simple sensor thing.

While some generic codes may appear, the specific combination of symptoms and the likelihood of implausible control unit programming strongly suggests a software issue. Given the complexity, it's advisable to consult a certified technician for a software refresh. Ignoring it could lead to further complications.

Appreciate the confirmation. Took it to the shop – control unit re-programming was indeed the fix. Cost 240€. All good now, cheers!

Have you checked for any recent recalls related to the control module or software? Navigation system issues coupled with electrical malfunctions often point to ECU problems. Have you tried running onboard diagnostics to pull any specific error codes?
