Rifter Overheating Error

Lost oomph, yeah that's a good way to describe it. Feels like I'm towing a boat anchor. Consequential error? What does that even mean? Where exactly should I be looking on the exhaust system?

Okay, consequential error basically means one problem is triggering another. In my case, the root cause was a sensor gone bad, which then messed with the bypass valve and caused the overheating. As for the exhaust, just give it a visual once-over for anything obvious – cracks, loose connections, that kind of thing. Honestly, it's probably best to get it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly.

Right you are! Dropped it off at the shop. Turns out you nailed it – a sensor issue was causing the bypass valve to go haywire and overheat. They replaced the sensor under warranty, so cost me nothing. Thanks a bunch for the help!

Sounds familiar! I had something similar with my Rifter. Is it also feeling like it's lost some oomph? Check your exhaust system, might be a consequential error messing with the bypass valve. Could be something else entirely, but it’s worth a look.
