Rogue cruise control malfunction
Summary of the thread
The 2020 Nissan Rogue's cruise control malfunctioned, with the light not illuminating and an error code present. Initial checks of fuses and the brake pedal switch did not resolve the issue. Suggestions included checking the steering wheel switch connection and throttle position sensor, but ultimately, a workshop diagnosed a defective cable connection as the cause. The repair cost was 95€.

Thanks for the reply. How would I best check the cruise control switch connection on the steering wheel without causing damage? Also, the horn is working fine. Could a faulty throttle position sensor completely disable the cruise control, even without affecting engine performance?

Given that the horn is working and you've checked the brake switch, it might be more involved than a simple fix. The steering wheel connection can be tricky because of the airbag. If you're not comfortable working around airbags, consult a qualified technician. It's possible a faulty throttle position sensor could disable the cruise control as a safety measure, though it usually affects engine performance as well. Considering you have an error code stored, it sounds like it might be best to take it to a workshop and have them diagnose it properly. Could save you a lot of headache.

I appreciate the insights. I'll schedule an appointment with a workshop to diagnose the issue. The repair involved a defective cable connection, costing 95€. Thanks again for your assistance.

I have a Rogue as well. I had something similar happen a while back. Before you start taking things apart, have you checked the connection to the cruise control switch on the steering wheel itself? Also, does your horn work? These systems sometimes share wiring, and a fault in one can affect the other. I'd also suggest wiggling the wires around the throttle position sensor, just in case.
