Roox AC and Temperature Sensor Issue

My 2011 Nissan Roox with a gasoline engine is showing some weird symptoms. The temperature sensor on the heat exchanger seems to be defective, as there's an error stored in the memory and I get an error message on the speedometer. Also, the AC won't switch on. Could a defective air conditioning control unit really be the cause?

Whoa, that's a trifecta of issues! It could be the AC control unit, sure, but let's not jump to conclusions just yet. The temperature sensor itself is usually the culprit when you get temp-related errors. Have you checked for any obvious signs like coolant leaks around the heat exchanger? A simple visual inspection can sometimes save you a ton of cash. Also, what's the mileage on your Roox? Might give us a clue about worn-out parts.

Mileage is at 234380 km. I haven't noticed any coolant leaks, but I will double-check that. If it is the sensor, does it need some special calibration, or is it just plug-and-play?

Okay, with that mileage, things are starting to wear out, no surprise there. Look, a faulty sensor can definitely mess with the AC system. These modern cars are so interconnected; the HVAC system often relies on engine temp data. No, the sensor itself shouldn't need calibration, usually just plug and play. However, it might be best to take it to a workshop. If the AC control unit is faulty, things will get more expensive. A proper diagnostic might save you money and time.

Thanks for the input. Took it to the shop and you were right; it was the AC control unit. Repair cost was 980€. Appreciate the help.
