Roox Gear Shift Indicator Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Nissan Roox is experiencing gear shift issues, including non-engagement of gears, erratic automatic transmission behavior, slipping, rough shifts, grinding noises, and a non-functional gear selection display. These problems began suddenly, with an error stored in the system. A similar case suggests the control unit might be faulty, and professional diagnosis is recommended to confirm and address the issue.

It was sudden, no noises or vibrations beforehand. The gear shift indicator just quit, and all the other problems started at the same time. Was the control unit the problem for you?

Yeah, that's really similar to what happened to me. The shop said it was a bad control unit after a lot of testing, so that could be it. Get it checked by a mechanic to be sure. Don't try to DIY it.

Thanks, I'll get it diagnosed by a pro. Sounds like a control unit replacement is likely. Appreciate the help.

I own a Nissan Roox too and this sounds familiar. Did it happen suddenly or gradually? Any other symptoms before it died, like noises or vibrations? Maybe it's just the shift knob, but that's a guess.
