Roox handsfree system malfunction
Summary of the thread
The hands-free system in a 2010 Nissan Roox is malfunctioning, making telephony impossible and storing an error. The issue is suspected to be with the infotainment system, as speech recognition isn't working despite attempts to adjust volume and audio input. A similar problem was experienced by another owner, where ambient noise and degraded sound quality led to a complete microphone failure, confirmed to be an infotainment unit issue. The suggested solution is to have the infotainment system checked at a workshop.

Thanks. No longer under warranty, unfortunately. Could you give me more details on the problem you had? Was it gradual, or did it fail suddenly?

It was gradual. First, speech recognition became unreliable, then sound quality degraded. Eventually, the microphone stopped working. I had to take it to a workshop. They said it was an infotainment unit problem.

Thanks for confirming. I'll schedule an appointment with a workshop to have the infotainment system checked. I was quoted about 815€. Hopefully, they can fix it. Thanks again!

I have a Roox too, and I had similar issues. Ambient noise seemed to interfere, and the sound quality dropped before it failed. Is it still under warranty?
