RS3 Sunroof Dead: Reset vs Full Replacement Guide

My 2019 RS3 sunroof system seems completely dead, the sunblind is frozen in position and the convertible top wont budge either way. Mileage is at 116263km with the 2.5L engine. Getting a sunroof not initialized error message. Had some questionable work done at a shop recently and wondering if others have experienced similar sunroof operation issues. Any tips on sunroof troubleshooting or experiences with repair costs before I take it back to a mechanic? Not sure if this needs a full mechanism replacement or just a simple sunroof reset.
