RSQ3 Multi-System Failure Points to Clutch Switch Issue

Having trouble with my 2023 RSQ3 where multiple systems are acting up simultaneously. The car stalling is not my main concern, but the engine wont start at all. Getting error codes and the gear display is blank in the cluster. Cruise control is also completely dead. I suspect the clutch switch might be faulty since these issues appeared together. Have others encountered similar symptoms? Would be great to hear about repair experiences and if replacing the safety mechanism of the clutch switch solved these problems. Looking for actual workshop repair feedback before booking an appointment.

Based on my experience with a 2021 RS3, I encountered very similar symptoms. As someone with moderate car repair experience, I initially thought it was more severe until my workshop diagnosed it. The main issue was indeed a faulty switch, specifically the clutch switch wiring harness connection. The symptoms matched exactly, car starting problems, blank gear display, and non-functioning cruise control. The clutch pedal safety mechanism was actually fine, but the cable connection had worked loose and was causing intermittent electrical issues. The repair involved replacing the damaged wiring and securing the connection properly. Total cost was 95 Euro including diagnostic time. The whole repair took about an hour and has been problem-free since then. Before suggesting specific solutions for your case, could you share: Any warning lights appearing before the car stalling? Does the clutch pedal feel different than usual? Can you hear the starter motor when trying to start the car? Were there any recent repairs or maintenance done? This information would help determine if your issue is identical to what I experienced or if there might be other factors involved.

Thanks for sharing your experience. After 74437 KM on my RSQ3, this is the first major issue. Just had the service done last month with no problems reported. To answer your questions: No warning lights before the stalling, Clutch pedal feels normal, Starter motor is completely silent when pressing start button, No recent repairs besides routine maintenance I checked the faulty switch connection you mentioned but it seems properly secured. The fact that multiple safety mechanisms failed at once makes me think its more than just the clutch switch. The gear selector being blank is especially concerning. Would testing the wiring harness connections be a good first step before replacing parts?

Thanks for those details about your RSQ3. The symptoms are actually quite different from my RS3 case, especially with the completely silent starter motor and multiple systems failing simultaneously. Even though the clutch pedal feels normal, these issues often point to a broader electrical problem rather than just a faulty switch. After dealing with my own car starting issues, I learned that the entire safety switch system is interconnected. The clutch pedal switch is part of a larger safety circuit that affects multiple functions. The gear display and cruise control shutting down together suggest a possible CAN bus communication issue or a main relay problem. In my case, testing the wiring harness connections was definitely the right first step. But given your symptoms are more severe, I would recommend: 1. Getting a full diagnostic scan first 2. Testing the main fuse box connections 3. Checking the battery voltage and ground connections 4. Then moving to the clutch safety switch circuit testing My repair was simpler because it was isolated to the clutch switch area. Your case sounds more complex with the complete starter silence and multiple system failures. This could indicate a power distribution issue rather than just a faulty switch problem. Would you be able to check if the battery terminals are clean and properly secured? This was another lesson from my experience, seemingly complex electrical issues can sometimes stem from basic power supply problems.

Looking at your feedback, youre right that my case seems more complex than a simple clutch switch issue. The complete electrical shutdown affecting multiple systems does suggest a broader problem. Your mention of testing the battery first makes sense since its the foundation of all electrical systems. I just checked the battery connections following your advice. While they look clean, I noticed one terminal has some corrosion building up. This could explain the gear selector display issues and electrical faults occurring simultaneously. The ignition problem and silent starter definitely align with potential power distribution issues rather than just a safety mechanism failure. Think I will book that diagnostic scan to be safe. Would rather catch any serious electrical issues early before more systems get affected. Will make sure to have them inspect the entire wiring harness and main relay system too, not just focus on the clutch switch area. The CAN bus communication issue you mentioned seems like a real possibility given how multiple systems failed at once. Thanks for helping me understand the bigger picture. This is way more involved than my initial clutch switch theory.
