RX central locking failure

Has anyone had central locking issues with their 2019 Lexus RX hybrid? The central locking has completely stopped working. I can't lock or unlock the doors with the key fob or the button inside. The mechanic found an error stored and suspects a defective cable or plug connection. With 141245 km, could it be something simple, or am I looking at big problems?

That sucks! I had a similar nightmare with my old Peugeot 308. Central locking went bonkers. Did you check the fuse box? Sometimes it's just a blown fuse. Could also be the key fob battery, have you tried replacing that?

Good thought on the fuses, I'll check those first thing tomorrow. The mechanic suggested the defective cable or plug connection. But why would that cause the system to fail entirely? Is that what happened with your Peugeot?

Yeah, same symptoms man. Started with it being intermittent, then just died completely. Turned out to be a corroded connection in the door. Honestly, unless you're good with wiring, I'd take it to a workshop. Could save you a headache.

Just got it back from the shop; you were spot on, corroded connection! They replaced the faulty connector (cost me 95€), and it's working perfectly again.
