RX Overheating and Slow Warm Up

I've got a 2022 Lexus RX gasoline with 82011 kilometers. It's overheating and takes too long to warm up. Could this be a thermostat issue? I've read about map thermostats. Could a bad one cause this? What diagnostic steps should I take? Could a blockage, water pump, coolant leak, or bad sensor cause similar issues?

Hey there, I have a Lexus RX too. I've been there with similar overheating. Does your temperature gauge go nuts, or is it a slow creep into the red zone? Did you check the coolant level? Is it suspiciously low? It could be a leak, but that delayed warm-up sounds familiar...

The temperature gauge is erratic. The coolant level drops gradually, and I have to refill. Does this confirm a thermostat issue? Could a bad thermostat housing cause coolant loss and temperature problems?

Yep, sounds like thermostat trouble. The fluctuating gauge and the coolant disappearing? Classic signs. I bet a decent workshop would find a bad thermostat quickly. Probably looking at around 350€.
