RX Tire Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Lexus RX hybrid owner experienced a 'Tire pressure too low' warning despite manually verified correct tire pressures. The issue was identified as a sensor fault, likely due to dying sensor batteries, given the vehicle's age. The recommended solution was to replace the sensors at a workshop, which resolved the problem.

Yeah, I've checked them multiple times with a good gauge, and they're all where they should be. And no, it doesn't seem to be the same tire every time. It's kind of random which one triggers the warning. Does that point to anything specific?

Okay, random definitely suggests a sensor issue rather than an actual leak. Given the age of your RX, those sensor batteries are probably getting weak. It's probably not worth messing with yourself. I'd honestly just take it to a workshop and have them replace the sensors. It'll save you a headache in the long run.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to my local shop, and you were spot on. They confirmed it was the sensor batteries. Ended up costing me about 280€ to get all four replaced. Annoying, but at least it's sorted now!

Oh, that sounds annoying! So, the tire pressures are definitely correct when you check them yourself? Like, you've double-checked with a decent gauge? Is it always the same tire that's throwing the error, or does it seem to be random?
