S Klasse lighting issues

My 2012 Mercedes S Klasse with a gasoline engine is having some strange lighting issues. The lights randomly switch on, and I've found an error code related to the light switch in the car's memory. Could this be a faulty light switch, or is it more likely an electrical problem? I'm thinking maybe a bad cable or plug connection is causing this. I hope the repair cost won't be too high; the mechanic quoted around 95€.

Did the mechanic check the dimmer switch specifically? It might be related to the electrical problem you mentioned, especially if the error code points to the automotive switch.
