S Klasse power window issue after battery change

My 2008 Mercedes S Klasse with a gasoline engine has an issue. After a battery replacement at 285600 km, the power windows are inoperable. The window regulator initialization is unsuccessful, and there's an error code. Could the battery replacement be the cause? Any advice on troubleshooting or resetting the windows? I'd like to avoid removing the door panel if possible. Any insights on window controls?

I have an S Klasse and had something similar when the battery was disconnected. The window controls went dead. Did you try the window reset procedure, holding the switch up after the window is fully closed? If that doesn't work, check the power window circuit fuses. A diagnostic scan with Mercedes software is probably best.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried holding the switch up, but it didn't work. Do you know which specific fuse(s) control the power windows on this model? If the fuses are fine, can I diagnose the window controls without removing the door panel?

Pinpointing the exact fuse without wiring diagrams is tricky. Further window troubleshooting without removing the door panel could be difficult. Since the basic reset didn't work, and you are not confident, I'd recommend a workshop. They have the tools to pinpoint the issue quickly. I wouldn't want you to damage the window controls.

I appreciate your advice. I took the car to a workshop. The error was related to the window regulator needing re-initialization after the battery change. The mechanic did the reset with the Mercedes diagnostic tool. The repair cost 290€. Thanks again for the help.
