S Klasse windshield wiper issue

My 2017 Mercedes S Klasse with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The windshield wipers have completely stopped working. The car has 210168 km on it. I scanned it, and it shows an error related to the wiper switch. I suspect a faulty cable or plug connection. The workshop quoted me around 95€ for the repair. Has anyone dealt with a similar wiper switch or wiring harness issue?

I had a similar problem with my S Klasse. Windshield wipers just quit. Did you check the wiper motor itself? Sometimes those go bad. Also, check the fuse for the wipers. That's the easiest thing to check first.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked the fuse, and it seems fine. How did you diagnose the exact cause, whether it was the wiper motor, the car wipers themselves, or the wiring harness? Was the error memory helpful for you?

Honestly, the error memory pointed me to the general area, but I didn't dive too deep myself. I took it to a workshop. They said it was a corroded connector in the wiring harness leading to the wiper switch. So yes, the error memory helped, but pinpointing the exact fault... that was their job.

Appreciate the insight! Sounds like I should just bite the bullet and let the workshop handle it. Knowing it could be a corroded connector in the wiring harness helps me feel a bit better about their initial diagnosis. Thanks again!
